Help shape the future of Sandwell's homes and communities. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Contract & Project Supervisor to join our Capital Investment Team. This role involves overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring safe, efficient delivery and high standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the delivery of capital investment projects across the borough
  • Supervising and supporting Project Officers to achieve high standards of performance
  • Managing project programmes, risks, budgets and performance reporting
  • Supporting procurement activities and tender evaluation processes
  • Undertaking site visits, inspections and monitoring contractor performance
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, governance arrangements and financial regulations
  • Working closely with residents and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and engagement throughout project delivery
  • Contributing to business cases, reports and funding opportunities that support future investment

About you:

  • You should be proactive, organised and have experience of contract management, project supervision or capital project delivery within the public or private sector.
  • An HNC or equivalent qualification in a building‑related discipline
  • Minimum two years' experience identifying building defects and supervising construction works
  • Experience supervising teams within a property or asset management environment
  • Knowledge of managing capital and revenue budgets
  • Experience in project governance, risk management and performance monitoring
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management
  • Understanding of building safety requirements and health and safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong organisational, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement
