Transform Care in Walsall - Join Our Occupational Therapy Team. We are seeking 4 motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join Walsall Adult Social Care as part of our evolving Occupational Therapy Service.
Grade: G9 | Salary: £42,839- £46,142 per annum.

Occupational Therapy Opportunities in Walsall:
- Localities Team – Optimal Handed Care Project
- Enablement Team – Occupational Therapist Role
- Prevention & Early Intervention Team – Occupational Therapist Role
Responsibilities:
- Complete strengths‑based occupational therapy assessments in homes and community settings.
- Undertake detailed moving and handling assessments.
- Review existing double‑handed care packages and identify opportunities for safe optimal/proportionate handed care.
- Recommend equipment, techniques and adaptations to support independence.
- Work collaboratively with care providers, families and professionals.
- Support safe, dignified and person‑centred care delivery.
- Manage a varied and complex caseload across Walsall, supporting adults within the community.
- Provide minor adaptations and equipment, and facilitate major adaptations through Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).
- Conduct manual handling assessments and give expert advice on safe support arrangements.
- Complete housing‑related assessments, including rehousing reports, and signpost relevant services and community resources.
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities and Care Act compliance in all interventions.
- Contribute to service development, share expertise across teams and support innovative projects such as Optimal Handed Care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Have knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Be committed to strengths‑based and outcome‑focused practice.
- Have a minimum of two years’ post‑qualifying experience.
- Experience in moving and handling, particularly in double‑handed care reviews, single‑handed care and risk enablement.
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or individuals transitioning into adulthood.
- Experience supporting adults with physical disabilities that impact functional ability.
