The Role

  • Contract: Permanent | Pattern: full time | Salary: TA3 | Closing Date: Friday 15th May

As Nurture Lead, you will be at the forefront of our mission to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and deliver cutting‑edge nurture provision, using the latest approaches and digital tools to support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health. Your leadership will empower staff and pupils alike, ensuring every child can access the rewards of education and society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of our nurture provision, setting the standard for progressive practice across the school.
  • Design and implement targeted SEMH interventions for individuals and groups, using creativity and evidence‑based strategies to maximise impact.
  • Lead assessment, tracking, and reporting using tools such as the Boxall Profile, ensuring data informs continuous improvement and celebrates pupil progress.
  • Inspire and guide teaching and support staff, modelling best practice and fostering a culture of trauma‑informed, relational approaches.
  • Champion whole‑school behaviour, inclusion, and wellbeing strategies, integrating nurture principles into every aspect of school life.
  • Support pupils’ successful reintegration into mainstream learning, unlocking their potential and building resilience.
  • Provide clear, insightful reports on nurture and SEMH provision to senior leaders, driving strategic development.
  • Act as a lead professional for nurture and SEMH, coaching colleagues and developing consistent approaches across the school.
  • Develop innovative guidance and resources, contributing to CPD and staff training sessions that elevate our provision.
  • Support the induction of staff working with vulnerable pupils, ensuring everyone is equipped to deliver outstanding care.

We’re Looking For:

  • A recognised Nurture Lead qualification, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to best practice.
  • Forest Lead qualification is highly valued, though not essential—your passion for outdoor and holistic learning will be celebrated.
  • Formal training in SEMH, attachment, or nurture approaches, equipping you to deliver impactful interventions.
  • HLTA status or an equivalent Level 3+ qualification, ensuring you have the skills to lead and innovate.
  • Proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs, with a track record of making a difference.
  • Experience leading or coordinating nurture or intervention provision, showing your ability to drive change.
  • Deep understanding of nurture principles and trauma‑informed practice, ready to embed these across the school.
  • Confident leadership, influence, and support for colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, enabling you to manage, motivate, and inspire.
  • Experience contributing to whole‑school inclusion or behaviour strategy, working with external agencies, or coaching and mentoring is highly desirable.
