About Chill'd CIC
Chill’d CIC supports young people aged 5 – 25. Our current cohort is aged 12 – 21. We have 2 ‘full time’ post‑16 young people who will attend five hours a day over three days. Other young people will attend sessions of two, three or four hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to Chill’d CIC’s holistic approach with young people.
- Identify and facilitate any barriers to engagement using a person‑centred approach.
- Identify the young person’s needs in social, emotional and mental well‑being domains.
- Empower young people to resolve their own issues and help them develop coping strategies for the future.
- Model a healthy and trusting relationship through clear communication and appropriate boundaries.
- Acknowledge strengths, talents and gifts and help young people use these.
- Listen actively and offer support, encouragement and help young people develop a positive view of themselves and their environment.
- Support young people in a way that helps them engage in activities offered, taking into account their interests and needs.
- Maintain a positive understanding of autism and other neurodiversity.
- Provide a non‑traditional approach recognising trauma and offering alternative tasks.
- Recognise progress made and communicate it to the team, parents/carers and the young person.
- Summarise each session for the team to help build relationships and trust.
- Understand the goals, philosophy, processes and practices of Chill’d CIC and support our future aims.
- Follow Chill’d CIC’s policies.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of students.
- Attend relevant meetings.
- Put the needs of the young person first.
- React positively and suggest ideas to help the young person.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Directors to fulfill this role.
- Ensure day‑to‑day running of the Hub works for all young people during their shared space.
- Work closely with Chill’d Senior Mentor to shape the best experience for young people, using unique and imaginative ideas.
- Work mainly on a 1–2–1 basis and join other mentors to form small groups and encourage positive social interactions during shared times.
- Provide relationship‑focused support and plan the learning package for each young person, ensuring growth at a pace that suits them.
- Help young people achieve AQA awards and Functional Skills.
Position Details
The role is a senior position, 40 hours per week for 39 weeks a year. Pay is averaged over 12 equal monthly payments, starting at £29,000 and negotiable based on experience. Holidays must be taken outside of term time. Additional work during holidays can be paid as overtime. The role will begin in September 2026.
