Oak Wood Secondary School, a specialist setting for children and young people aged from 11 to 19 with a broad spectrum of special educational needs and learning disabilities, seeks an enthusiastic Support Worker and Mid‑day supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well‑being of pupils before, during and after the lunchtime period.
  • Provide personal care as required.
  • Join in with activities in class in a supervisory role as required.
  • Work under the general direction of a designated member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Responsibility for others: The post has considerable direct impact on the well‑being of individuals or groups through either providing appropriate care or welfare for those who are personally dependent on the post for basic needs.
  • Work with pupils with special needs requiring specialist support, including administering medication and using Makaton language skills as required.
