Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council is looking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Planning Officer (Policy) to take a leading role in delivering a wide range of planning policy matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join an authority with a recently adopted Borough Plan Review and play a key part in developing and delivering a new Local Plan.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the formulation and delivery of the Local Plan, from initial stages through to adoption.
- Preparing and, where relevant, commissioning key planning documents and evidence‑based studies.
- Providing expert planning policy advice to internal teams, Members, stakeholders and the public.
- Representing the Council at meetings, public examination and hearings, when necessary.
About you
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of planning legislation.
- Ability to analyse and resolve complex information.
- Previous planning policy experience and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to manage one’s own time successfully.
- Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute, or a qualification and experience which would enable membership within 12 months of appointment.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle or other appropriate means of travel.
