Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate complaints, FOI, SAR, EIR requests, and Member/MP enquiries, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines and service standards.
  • Act as a key point of contact for information governance matters, providing advice and guidance to services on handling complex cases and responses.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve complex complaints and enquiries, including liaison with the Ombudsman where required.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor performance, and produce reports to support continuous improvement and reduce complaints and enquiries.
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of corporate systems and processes relating to complaints and information requests.
  • Provide high-level corporate and administrative support to the Executive Team, including managing correspondence, diaries, and meetings.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion at all times.
  • Contribute to corporate projects and support wider organisational priorities and service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong administrative experience, including managing correspondence, producing documents, and supporting meetings.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, senior managers, Elected Members, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships across teams and organisations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to review, edit, and improve written responses.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and support the resolution of complaints and enquiries in a balanced and effective way.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to deliver outcomes, particularly when dealing with complex or cross-service issues.
  • Aware of or understanding data governance and information management principles, with a willingness to develop knowledge in areas such as FOI, SAR, EIR, and data protection.
