About the Team
Our Family and Adolescent Support Team (FAST) – North is looking to recruit an experienced and passionate Consultant Social Worker who is committed to improving outcomes for adolescents facing risks outside of their family homes, including exploitation, missing, peer and contextual harm.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Consultant Social Worker for our Family and Adolescent Support Team (FAST) – North on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert consultation and practice oversight on complex adolescent cases, including exploitation, missing, serious youth violence and peer harm.
- Modelling and embedding high‑quality, relationship‑based, trauma‑informed and contextual safeguarding practice.
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting practitioners through reflective discussions, co‑working and practice development.
- Supporting quality assurance activity, including audits, learning reviews and thematic analysis.
- Strengthening multi‑agency safeguarding responses across Police, Health, Education and community partners.
Key Requirements
Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
Additional Information
- Pre‑engagement checks: Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV), and assessment for any declared criminal offence.
- Fluency Duty: You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
