Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils are seeking a Technical Assistant for 37 hours per week on a permanent basis, with a salary of £26,403 – £28,142 per annum (Pay award pending). The South Worcester Building Control Partnership combines the Building Control services of Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council, and Wychavon District Council to provide a modern, flexible, and customer-focused Building Control Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled administrator to join a professional team known for delivering high-quality service across South Worcestershire. In this role, you will:

  • Provide excellent customer service by handling telephone enquiries and emails, offering technical advice and guidance on building control matters.
  • Communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including Building Control Surveyors, customers, and external agents.
  • Act as an administrator to the team of Building Control Surveyors, keeping accurate records of incoming building regulation applications, registering them on the system, and issuing certificates of completion and notices when required.

About You

  • Be a team player with the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Be computer literate with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Be well-organised and able to handle a variety of tasks at any time.
  • Have the ability to positively respond to change and seek new and improved ways of working.
  • Be customer-focused.
  • Ideally have experience working within Building Control or Planning.
