Worcestershire County Council is looking to appoint enthusiastic and flexible individuals for the role of Passenger Assistant. The position involves transporting children and adults to schools and day centres, working closely with a Driver and assisting with moving passengers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers, some of whom have enhanced care requirements.
- Physically assisting passengers as necessary to and from the vehicle, using steps or the vehicle lift according to their level of need.
- Undertaking moderate physical activity, sometimes in confined spaces.
- Traveling on a vehicle on a split shift to safely transport passengers to their destinations.
Due to the nature of the work, a criminal record check via the DBS disclosure service will be required.
