Maintenance Operative
King Edward VI College, Stourbridge - Full‑time (37 hours per week), all year round.
Location: King Edward VI College, Stourbridge.
Working hours: Core hours are Monday to Thursday: 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and Friday: 8.00 am to 3.30 pm. You will be required to be on the locking‑up rota.
Salary: SFCA support staff pay scale 13‑17 (£30,444 – £34,253).

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, including general building maintenance, minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, whilst responding to day‑to‑day maintenance requests across the site. They will also support compliance activities, including routine health and safety checks, fire safety inspections and maintaining accurate records to help ensure the college meets its statutory obligations.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for someone with good practical skills, a strong awareness of health and safety, and the ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a busy team. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards, demonstrate a flexible approach to work and be committed to providing excellent service to staff, students and visitors.
