About The Role

Lichfield District Council is investing in the future of its communities through an ambitious programme of regeneration, development and economic growth. We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Projects Manager to help deliver major town centre and regeneration projects that will shape the district for generations to come.

Working alongside our Performance and Programmes Manager, you'll play a key role in taking projects from concept through to delivery - working with partners, consultants, contractors and local communities to transform places and create opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build or further develop their career within regeneration and development while working on high-profile projects with real community impact.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • City centre regeneration and placemaking initiatives
  • Strategic development projects
  • Land and property development opportunities
  • Feasibility studies and business cases
  • Funding bids and external grant applications
  • Procurement of consultants and contractors
  • Project management through design, planning and delivery
  • Stakeholder and community engagement
  • Preparation of reports for senior officers and elected Members

No two days will be the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of public and private sector partners to help deliver ambitious projects across the district.

About You

We're looking for an organised and proactive project professional who enjoys working collaboratively and seeing projects through from inception to completion.

Most importantly, you'll bring experience of delivering projects within a regeneration, development, construction or property environment and be confident managing multiple priorities.

You'll ideally have experience of:

  • Project management
  • Major development or regeneration projects
  • Procurement and contractor management
  • Working with stakeholders and partners
  • Preparing reports and business cases
  • Managing project budgets and programmes

Experience within local government is preferred but it isn't essential. If you've successfully delivered complex development or infrastructure projects within the private sector and are looking to make a real difference to communities, we’d love to hear from you.

Knowledge And Experience

  • Experience of practical area regeneration work e.g. planning, surveying, property development.
  • Experience of planning/regeneration/ development/ property legislation.
  • Experience of project management within a development/regeneration setting
  • Knowledge and experience of procurement of contractors

Skills And Experience

  • Evidenced ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of audiences including stakeholders and prepare/ deliver presentations.
  • Ability to use project management systems
  • Capable of working independently and leading multiple workstreams across a programme of projects.
  • Ability to work with financial information and administer accounts/budgets
  • Ability to manage complex projects including procurement, contract coordination and on-site works.
