The Role: We are looking to appoint a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a pupil with additional needs. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will support the pupil’s learning, emotional wellbeing and inclusion, helping them to access the curriculum and develop independence. This role requires patience, consistency and a positive approach, supporting the pupil both within the classroom and in other areas of the school as needed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Have experience of supporting children with additional needs, ideally in a school setting
- Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Have good literacy and numeracy skills
- Hold, or be working towards, an NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Be calm, patient and resilient, with a nurturing yet consistent approach
- Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals
- Be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
