Overview

The Friary School, part of the Primitas Learning Partnership, is a well-established academy, heavily over-subscribed, and nationally among the highest performing schools of its type. This status has been achieved over the last decade. The school’s OFSTED inspection in March 2024 highlighted a culture of high expectations, excellent pupil behaviour and outcomes, a highly ambitious curriculum, strong SEND support, rich career opportunities, and broad pupil development. The Friary School proudly serves the cathedral city of Lichfield in Staffordshire. It is located in the heart of the country with excellent transport links.

Salary: Pay range from Main – Upper Pay Scale (£32,916 – £51,048) per annum according to the Academy Pay Policy.

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Contract: Permanent, Full Time (part time considered).

Responsible to: Head of Faculty – Assistant Headteacher.

Start Date: September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring French lessons across a range of age groups and abilities.
  • Manage a classroom effectively, supporting high standards of behaviour and progress.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the department and the school’s curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote student learning and wider development.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK, evidence of qualifications and suitable references.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
