Library Team Leader (Evesham Cluster) – Worcestershire Libraries, Worcestershire County Council

Location: Evesham Library Cluster (Evesham, Pershore and Broadway libraries)

Salary: £17,391 to £18,865 per annum

Hours: 22.5 Hours per Week

Contract: Permanent

Role

This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible individuals, with experience of providing excellent customer service and leading a team to join Worcestershire Libraries working in the Evesham Cluster. As a Team Leader in the Library Service, you will lead and supervise staff to deliver excellent customer service to our broad and diverse customer base. This will include setting clear expectations and goals to support high performance in the Library Customer Advisor team. You will work alongside the wider library team delivering a broad range of literacy, reading and learning services and helping to promote wider community participation. You will have an excellent understanding of information resources, be comfortable working closely with partner organisations and demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to customer service across a diverse customer base, including children and young people.

The post is based on a 2 week rota which includes some Saturday working and you would be expected to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Library Service staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Set clear expectations and goals to support high performance in the Library Customer Advisor team
  • Work with the wider library team to deliver literacy, reading and learning services
  • Promote wider community participation and collaborate with partner organisations
  • Act as a positive and proactive representative of Worcestershire Libraries across a diverse customer base

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience in providing excellent customer service
  • Experience in leading a team and managing staff in a public service setting
  • Strong understanding of information resources and library services
  • Ability to work across multiple sites within the Evesham cluster
  • Positive, proactive approach and good interpersonal skills
