Job Overview
King Edward VI College, Stourbridge
Contract: Full-time (37 hours per week), term-time-only, fixed term until March 2027. Working hours: 8.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday‑Thursday and 8.00 am to 4.00 pm Friday (hours within these times may vary). Salary: SFCA support staff pay scale 3 – 7 (£20,934.25 – £21,942.11).
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head Librarian to maintain a calm, purposeful and welcoming atmosphere across the library and study areas.
- Provide visible supervision, support students in accessing study spaces and resources, promote positive behaviour, and help ensure learning environments remain productive throughout the college day.
- Assist with the organisation and circulation of library resources and support wider operational priorities as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence in working with young people, and the ability to establish clear expectations while building positive relationships.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative approach to work with colleagues to respond to changing demands, especially during busy periods.
- Previous experience in a library, educational, or customer‑facing environment is advantageous, though not essential.
