Overview

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Early Years for a fixed term of 1 year in the first instance at Hurst Green Primary School, starting September 2026. The role involves 29.5 hours per week for 39 weeks per year.

We are a large, two-form entry primary school with a strong sense of purpose and a clear direction for improvement. Our work focuses on building a coherent curriculum, strengthening teaching through consistent routines, and ensuring all pupils, regardless of starting point, are supported to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting high-quality teaching and provision across Nursery/Reception
  • Leading small group work and targeted interventions
  • Supporting early language, communication and personal development
  • Contributing to observation and assessment
  • Working closely with teachers to maintain consistent routines and expectations

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification
  • Has experience within Early Years

Additional requirements

This role includes supporting pupils with medical needs. The successful candidate will be required to undertake training (for example, diabetic care) and be willing to administer medication following appropriate training and school procedures.
