Horton Lodge Special School is looking for a Janitor to join our exceptional site from April 2026. Horton Lodge is a historic building set in extensive grounds within an area of natural beauty on the edge of Rudyard Lake. The pupils at Horton Lodge are what makes the school truly special, and the successful candidate will share our enthusiasm for ensuring the school is an incredible place for our children to learn.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will undertake general maintenance work around the whole school site, including external areas.
- The role involves early morning and early evening work to cover site security and the occasional call out in the event of an emergency.
Requirements
- Practical, hands-on skills.
- A proactive, can-do attitude.
- The ability to cope with the varied nature of the role.
- The ability to work under their own initiative.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- The ability to work alongside others but also on their own tasks.
