We are a school for pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex behaviours based in Olton, with a satellite centre at Green Lane in Shirley. We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. If you are successful in your application, you may be asked to work at either site.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a proven background and experience of successfully working in a special school environment.
  • Form good working relationships with students and act as an excellent role model.
  • Respond to and resolve challenging behaviours with effective strategies.
  • Be an enthusiastic and committed professional who is flexible and reliable.
  • Establish effective working relationships at all levels, particularly as a member of a team.
  • Reflect the relevant skills and personal qualities stated in the Job description, person specification, and advertised requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a school environment for pupils with special needs and challenging behaviours is preferred.
  • Ability to be an excellent role model and build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexible, reliable, and professional with the ability to work well within a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check required for all staff.

Details:

  • Location: Olton, Solihull (with potential work at satellite site in Shirley)
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.45 am – 3.45 pm
  • Hours per week: 32.5
  • Contract: Term time
  • Salary: £26,824 - £29,540; Actual pro rata salary: £20,109 - £22,145
  • Start: As soon as possible
