At St Nicholas C of E Primary School, our vision is clear: Aim high, be courageous, show love and kindness. We are seeking a qualified, caring Teaching Assistant who will embody this vision by supporting children to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. The role is a fixed term until July 2027, potentially extending beyond this date, working 30 hours 50 minutes per week, Monday to Friday 8:40 am – 3:20 pm (term time plus one week). Preferably starting as soon as possible or September 2026. Salary Scale: TA2 Band F (7–11) – pro‑rata.

Responsibilities

  • The role involves providing support and working one‑to‑one or in small groups with children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • You should be highly motivated, calm and patient, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, initiative and the ability to build trusting, respectful relationships are essential, reflecting our commitment to show love and kindness in all we do.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a recognised and relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification (NVQ Level 3 desirable).
  • Have GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A–C.
  • Have experience of TA work and strong communication and listening skills.
  • Understand SEND and have worked with children with additional needs.
  • Bring secure knowledge of at least one core subject.
  • Understand safeguarding and school policies.
  • Use ICT effectively to support learning.
  • Be proactive, reflective and able to use initiative.
  • Be committed to our vision and to helping children thrive.
