About the Role

Responsibilities
An Environmental Health Practitioner will lead day‑to‑day casework on inspections, investigations, and advice. Key duties include:
- Conduct HMO licensing, private rented housing standards, and public health inspections
- Investigate complaints, enforce standards, issue financial penalties and pursue prosecution work as necessary
- Provide advice and support to tenants and landlords
- Maintain accurate records of enforcement activities
Qualifications
- Fully qualified Environmental Health Officer/Practitioner (EHORB registration or Chartered CIEH status)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong knowledge of private rented sector regulations and enforcement procedures
