Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive inspections on the council's 2,000‑mile highways network.
- Record and raise any defects for repair and maintain accurate inspection logs.
- Engage with ward members, parish councils and local community groups to address local matters.
- Work with contractors to ensure minor works meet required specifications.
- Perform basic enforcement activities, including serving notices and preparing reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Desirable: relevant qualification such as LANTRA Accredited Highway Safety Inspector or equivalent experience.
- Hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Knowledge and experience of working in a highways environment.
- Ability to travel to multiple site locations and walk reasonable distances in all weathers.
