This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health Improvement Team at Telford and Wrekin Council. Telford and Wrekin is a great place to live and work with the council recently crowned as LGC Council of the Year 2025.
We are looking for a passionate and driven person to join our Healthy Lifestyles Team. Please note this post is fixed term for 12 months.
As a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor you will motivate and encourage people living in Telford and Wrekin to embed healthy lifestyle behaviours such as healthy eating, physical activity and healthy weight. The role is ideally suited to people with strong communication skills and those who are confident in delivering one to one lifestyle advice to individuals. This will include carrying out initial assessments and brief interventions using proven behaviour change techniques. You will work with a variety of people and will be required to provide support virtually and face to face. You will be IT literate and comfortable with online methods of communication. The role is community based with some home working, so you will need to be able to travel independently across the Telford and Wrekin area. Some evening and weekend work is expected.
Full training will be provided along with a programme of continued professional development.
The post will be subject to an enhanced DBS clearance.
