Tamworth Borough Council is seeking a candidate for the role within Regulatory Services, focusing on Community Safety and Partnerships. The successful applicant will work closely with elected members, senior officers, Staffordshire Police, health partners, voluntary sector organisations, and regional bodies to develop effective responses to local issues and emerging challenges.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in leading community safety, housing, partnership, community development, or related services at a senior level. A proven track record of delivering strategic outcomes through partnership working, managing complex budgets, commissioning services, influencing policy, and driving service improvement is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding community safety issues, anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, safeguarding, partnership governance, and relevant legislation.
- Managing external and internal budgets, performance management arrangements, and governance frameworks.
- Ensuring statutory functions are delivered effectively and in accordance with legal requirements and Council policies.
- Participating in an on-call rota approximately six times per year.
This is a home working contract, with the majority of duties carried out at home. Employees will be required to attend site for team meetings and other work-related activities two days per month, constituting no more than 40% of working time.
