Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Finance Manager for the Children’s Services Team. This is a frontline senior management accountancy position heading up the Children’s Finance Team within the Council’s Financial Operations Division. You will work directly with the Director for Children’s Services, supporting their Senior Leadership Team for Education and their Senior Leadership Team for Social Care.
You will be the finance lead supporting decision making by elected Members and elected Member Scrutiny requirements, to support our children and young people in achieving the best possible outcomes. Our Children’s Social Services have recently been rated Good by Ofsted, but there is still more to do. National reforms of Children’s Services, aimed at putting Families First, along with anticipated announcements on SEND support and funding, represent significant changes in Children’s Services.
This is an excellent opportunity to influence and support change in a service that aids some of the most vulnerable residents. These national changes provide a great challenge and career development opportunity for any aspiring or existing Finance Manager. Solihull offers a supportive centralised finance team, which prides itself on its strong links with the Children’s Services Directorate and other Directorates.
