Role: Finance Assistant

Location: Tanworth in Arden CofE Primary School

Salary: Band E (NJC Scale 5-6) Pro Rata

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Working weeks: 39 weeks

Days: Monday to Friday – 3.5 hours per day – times to be agreed at interview

Contract: Permanent

Closing date: Midday Friday 26th June 2026

Responsibilities

  • Work under general instruction and guidance, handling administrative processes and tasks within established procedures while prioritising own workload.
  • Produce documents from drafts or amend standard formats on a computer.
  • Input/retrieve financial information using initiative where necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the Wraparound service operated by the school.
  • Refer complex problems upwards and exercise initiative as required.
  • Assist with budgetary responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: GCSE/GCE O‑level/CSE grade 1 in literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Access or similar.
  • Prior experience or formal training in finance or administration.
  • Ability to use initiative within recognised procedures, handle unexpected problems, and propose solutions.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding children and respecting their needs.
  • Proficient with office equipment and word‑processing software.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and pupils.
