Family Time Worker Agency: Staffordshire County Council, Leek We are looking for a dedicated Family Time Worker to support vulnerable children placed in local authority foster care and help them maintain positive relationships with their birth families. The role involves working closely with children, grandparents, friends and other carers to supervise family time and ensure the children’s wellbeing. Main Responsibilities Work with vulnerable children and families, including grandparents and friends. Support children in understanding their birth identity and supervise time with birth parents. Maintain professional relationships while managing complex family needs and behaviours. Support families during non‑cohabiting periods and arrange school runs as required. Keep clear, detailed notes of each session in line with the recording policy. Candidate Requirements Minimum NVQ 3 in working with children and families or equivalent experience. Experience of direct work with children, their families and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency. Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of child development and the impact of stress and trauma. Understanding of key policies, guidance and legislation governing children’s social care. Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle. Working pattern: Full‑time, permanent. The role includes a weekend rota – one in four weekends are worked – and requires occasional travel inside and outside the county.
