About the Team

Rugby Family Help are looking for an experienced and dedicated Family Practitioner to work with families at every stage of need, including Children in Need, Edge of Care, Child Protection and Court work. Our dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team includes Family Support Workers, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, PCSOs and an NHS Nurse. The team is grounded in Restorative Principles and works collaboratively to support families to achieve lasting outcomes.

About the Role

The role is full‑time and involves working directly with families in their homes and community settings. You will deliver evidence‑based interventions, support parents to develop confidence and skills, and keep the child's voice central to all planning and decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of families, contributing to assessments and support plans.
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and group work and coordinate multi‑agency activity to keep children safe.
  • Provide early help, parenting guidance and proactive support to prevent family breakdown.
  • Work independently, demonstrate resilience under pressure and uphold anti‑discriminatory practice.
  • Travel within Warwickshire as required and hold a full driving licence.

Key Requirements

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and anti‑discriminatory practice.
  • Minimum one year’s experience working directly with families in their homes or community settings.
  • Solid understanding of child development, family dynamics and parenting impact.
  • Experience delivering evidence‑based parenting support.
  • Confidence working with vulnerable families, including those in complex situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to manage demanding or distressing situations.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, working under pressure and adapting to changing needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Full driving licence, vehicle and appropriate insurance.
  • Basic IT skills, including database use and literacy and numeracy.
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet families’ needs.
  • Satisfactory DBS check.
