Overview
Family Group Decision Making Coordinator – Evaluated Grade SO1, full time, 37 hours per week. Salary: £33,366 – £35,235 per annum.

Responsibilities
- Work with families in a whole family system approach, independently, to help them identify strengths and solutions, and keep children and young people safe and nurtured within their families.
- Work in close partnership with Social Work and colleagues, guiding and supporting restorative approaches to working with families in line with proposed legislative changes.
- Enable children, young people and their families (including wider networks) to be at the heart of decision making and actively involved in producing Family Plans that meet their needs.
- Manage and support a range of families to ensure needs are met using evidenced‑based practice interventions to prevent families from moving into high‑cost services.
- Work as part of a team receiving referrals for family decision making forums and lead practice in this area across children’s services.
- Repair and enhance relationships within the relational network, modelling the principles of systemic practice.
- Support the reform agenda in Children’s Social Care and drive the use of family decision making forums across services, with a focus on a renewed mandatory offer within the family safeguarding service.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience in family decision making for children and families in a social care setting.
- Ability to work within a systemic practice framework and collaborate with partners to support restorative approaches.
- Commitment to engaging children, young people and families in decision making and in producing Family Plans that meet their needs.
- Evidence based practice and safeguarding responsibilities as part of role.
