Accountable to: Headteacher, Head of School

Contract: Full time (37 hours per week) Term Time only plus 1 week including 5 training days, Permanent contract. 8.00am – 4.00pm working hours.

Salary: Grade 6 points 18‑23 – £27,944.38‑£30,511.36 (£16.35‑£17.85 an hour)

Child‑centred, demonstrating unconditional positive regard and sensitivity when working with vulnerable and complex learners and their families. Excellent communicator, able to build trusting, professional relationships with families, external agencies and school staff. Trustworthy, proactive, self‑motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility and professional integrity. Committed to professional development and willing to undertake (or have already completed) relevant training for the role. Reliable, flexible, good‑humoured, able to remain calm, compassionate and solution‑focused in sometimes challenging situations.

We wish to appoint a dedicated professional who has positivity, unconditional positive regard, and a passion for the pastoral support of those with complex Special Educational Needs and their families. Experience of working with families and professional agencies is necessary.

Old Hall School is a specialist setting in Walsall providing education to young people at EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, all of whom have a variety of SEND complexities. The post holder will be joining our vibrant team as we move forward and refine our excellence in nurturing, developing, and shaping young lives.

Required to work at either of our school sites. Successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check. A social media check will also be undertaken as part of the recruitment process. We encourage applications from all sectors of the community to reflect our diverse student population.
