Q3 Academy Langley is looking for an Exam Invigilator reporting to the Lead Exam Invigilator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Distribute and collect examination papers/scripts/materials from candidates
  • Prepare the examination room
  • Ensure the examination room is conducive to examination conditions and minimise distractions
  • Supervise the entry and exit of candidates to and from the examination room
  • Ensure that examinations begin and end on time according to schedule
  • Inform candidates of examination regulations prior to the start of examinations
  • Remain vigilant during the examination to prevent cheating or malpractice
  • Report any malpractices or problems to the Data and Examination Officer
  • Complete general administrative duties as directed by the Data and Examination Officer
  • Deal with emergency situations such as candidate illness or fire alarm
  • Deal sensitively with candidates who have special arrangements
  • Be familiar with and adhere to the instructions for the conduct of examinations issued by the Joint Council for General Qualifications
  • Be available to work flexibly to ensure that examination processes are completed at the end of each examination

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good attendance record: fewer than four absences in the last six months or not more than ten days absence over the last 12 months prior to the closing date of the post. Absences relating to disability will be considered sympathetically.
  • Strong understanding of literacy and numeracy is an advantage (not required)
  • Experience of invigilation or a similar role is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to undertake training as required
  • Knowledge of conduct requirements issued by the Joint Council for General Qualifications
