Ashton-Under-Hill First School is looking to appoint an experienced class teacher from September. We have a committed team of teaching and non-teaching staff and are keen to recruit someone with a love of life and learning and a great sense of humour! We are looking for hard-working practitioners who are passionate about achieving good outcomes for all our children. The successful applicant will be resilient and a great team player. Responsibilities

  • Teach a class of mixed Year 1 and Year 2 children and have experience in teaching Reception.
  • Adaptable to teach in a class of mixed pre-school and Reception children.
  • Implement and deliver an appropriately balanced, broad, relevant and differentiated KS1 curriculum including EYFS.
  • Passionate about achieving good outcomes for all our children.
  • Use observation, assessment and feedback effectively to inform next steps and ensure strong progress for all pupils.
  • Have experience of using the Little Wandle phonics scheme.
  • Have excellent communication skills, be organised with a professional approach and able to work as part of a hard-working team.
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic priorities for school improvement in line with the School Development Plan.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Be an integral part of the development of the school, upholding our values and motto “Shaping Bright Futures Together”.
  • Maintain a high-quality, stimulating and enabling learning environment to promote learning across KS1, working closely with job-share partner and the EYFS team.
  • Have a flexible approach to challenge and change.
