What to Expect in the Role
The Environmental and Operational Services Team at Stratford‑on‑Avon District Council is looking for two individuals with a passion for maintaining our great environment and local pride to make a positive difference to our communities. This exciting time to work in Environmental and Operational Services sees us at the forefront of change, delivering major changes to help residents further reduce their waste, drive up recycling, improve cleanliness standards and reduce our carbon footprint.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Lead on monitoring the delivery of the Council’s contracted waste collection, street cleansing and grounds maintenance services.
- Patrol and enforce the Council’s public open spaces and car parks.
- Support the Environmental and Operational Services Team Leaders to ensure that contractors deliver excellent, customer‑focused, value‑for‑money services that best meet the needs of the public and enhance public satisfaction.
What You’ll Need
- Experience may vary; you could be a new graduate or experienced in waste, recycling and street cleansing services.
- We value interest in the environment and a positive impact.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage with audiences at all levels.
- Excellent customer service skills, including handling and resolving customer enquiries and complaints.
- Strong people skills, with the ability to build excellent relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and contractors at all levels.
