Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. We are seeking a Quality & Compliance Officer with recent experience working in a benefits environment to join our small, dedicated Quality and Improvement Team. In this role, you will support the Principal Quality and Improvement Officer with a range of key activities, including:

  • Completing the Housing Benefit subsidy audit
  • Carrying out quality checks within the Benefits Processing Team on Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support assessments
  • Providing assistance in determining the eligibility and rental charges on Exempt and Supported Accommodation schemes
  • Identifying training needs
  • Highlighting areas of concern and contributing to continuous improvement

Essential Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant Housing Benefit legislation and regulations
  • Understanding of Local Council Tax Support policies
  • Educated to GCSE level, with grades A–C (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English OR experience in a Welfare Support environment that allows you to carry out the full range of duties.
  • Experience using Civica Open Revenues (desirable)
