Telford & Wrekin Council – Job Box Team

We are looking to recruit Employment Specialists to start as soon as possible. These roles will work within the Job Box team to provide supported employment as part of the Connect to Work program.

Overview

This role is about working with people who need additional support to engage with and access the world of work. It is a customer-facing (face‑to‑face, not remote or home working) role managing a caseload of up to 25 customers who will be at varying stages of their journey into paid work. You will use the place‑and‑train model of supported employment and its associated approaches to identify needs and progress people into work.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers to assess their skills, knowledge, and aspirations.
  • Identify suitable workplace placements and coach customers for tasks and duties.
  • Communicate at a variety of levels to promote the program to employers and support employers with reasonable adjustments and job carving.
  • Advocate on behalf of the customer and challenge discrimination where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate case records and produce required reporting.

Qualifications & Experience
