Salary: Grade 6 (Point 8-11) £26,824 - £28,142 per annum, pro rata. Actual Salary: £22,970 - £24,099 per annum
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, term time plus professional development days
Contract: Permanent, commencing 1st September 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Support students who are at risk of social exclusion and those who may have emotional and/or wellbeing difficulties.
- Assist in the implementation of an agreed ‘action plan’ designed to address a student’s individual learning needs.
- Scaffold access to learning targets in EHCPs/Support Plans; prepare accessible materials; support assessment and feedback.
- In conjunction with designated school staff, assist in the implementation of an action plan that seeks to address a student’s learning needs and remove any barriers to learning.
- Under the direction of the SLT lead/Lead Teacher support and engage students, both academically and emotionally, who are experiencing challenges (either short or longer-term) with their communication, interaction, emotional and mental health, in the ‘traditional’ school environment which is providing a barrier to their current participation, engagement and/or success.
- Assist in the management and monitoring of individual students’ progress against academic progress and the THRIVE programme attainment standards.
- Under the direction of the SLT lead/Lead Teacher provide support for an identified group of students and, where appropriate, their parents/carers with the aim of reducing truancy, suspension and exclusion and promoting achievement.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning, delivering and adapting personalised Thrive intervention sessions (this includes delivery and sequencing of sessions linked to the school's Teaching and Learning Model).
All appointments are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The post holder will comply with safeguarding policies and procedures, recognise safeguarding signs, report any disclosures or safeguarding concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and monitor students’ safety at all times.
