We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children in our vibrant Early Years Setting.

  • Term time only contract
  • Temporary (initially) until July 2027
  • Actual Salary: £16,281

We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children in our vibrant Early Years Setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment, helping children to develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

A passion for supporting young learners, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues are essential.

As this is an EYFS post, applicants must hold a minimum Level 2 in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification and have experience of working in a Nursery or Reception class.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a flexible approach to working and the ability to work independently and well within a team
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner who can support all children to make good progress.
  • Is enthusiastic and reliable with a sense of commitment
  • Has recent experience of working within a school or nursery setting.
  • Is confident in the new EYFS framework.
  • Has an understanding of how children learn, including speech and language development, early reading and writing skills, phonics and emotional/social development.
  • Has high expectations of attainment and behaviour
  • Has energy and enthusiasm, an open and positive approach
  • Is able to work supportively as part of a team
  • Demonstrates a good level of English and Maths, with GCSE qualification graded A-C, or equivalent.
  • Has the ability to confidently follow planning and adapt where necessary to support children’s individual needs.
  • Has experience in delivering intervention programmes for groups and individuals.
  • Is a team player, committed to their own professional development.
  • Has working knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Is prepared to participate in the wider life of the school.
  • Is a caring professional

This is a fixed term post until July 2027 in the first instance.

Budget review March 2027 will inform any extension.
