Overview
Ridgeway Primary Academy (part of Primitas Learning Partnership) seeks an Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse for Sunny Days Nursery. The nursery provides full day care from 7.00 am – 6.00 pm for children aged six weeks to five years and is open all year (except bank holidays and a week between Christmas and New Year). The academy has a Good Ofsted rating and is a founding member of Primitas Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust making a positive difference in the local community.
Salary, Contract and Hours
Salary Grade 3, SCP 4 £25,185 (Actual salary £22,212 per annum depending on years’ service).
Contract: Permanent, whole year.
Holidays: 25 days, plus statutory public holiday entitlements and two discretionary days.
Hours: 32.5 hrs per week, 6.5 hrs per day, Monday to Friday.
Start Date: 1st March 2026 or as soon as possible after this date.
About the role
Ridgeway Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse to work within our Sunny Days Nursery. The nursery provides full day care provision and we aim to create a lively, creative environment for children. The post is within a setting that operates year-round with some closures for holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the highest levels of care and education for all children attending the settings.
- Contribute to a high standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment and resources to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Undertake the role of key person.
- Supervise and support children at all times and ensure that all children are kept safe.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the Primitas values are maintained.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, colleagues and visitors.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers.
We are looking for someone who
- Has a positive attitude and creative ideas that inspire children to learn; is passionate about providing high standards of care and education to meet the individual needs of our children.
- Takes pride in maintaining positive working partnerships with colleagues, parents and carers.
- Has good verbal and written communication skills.
- Has a commitment to continuing professional development.
- Holds an NVQ L2 or L3 in Childcare; has experience of working with children in an EYFS setting (paid or placements) – desirable but not essential.
