Tenant Engagement Officer
Are you passionate about empowering communities and making a real difference to people’s lives?
We’re looking for a Tenant Engagement Officer to join our team and help strengthen relationships between residents and housing services across the borough.
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in promoting tenant involvement and community engagement.
You’ll work directly with residents, tenants’ groups, and partner organisations to ensure people have a strong voice in shaping housing services and their local communities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver innovative engagement activities across the borough.
- Support and develop tenants’ and residents’ groups.
- Build strong partnerships with council teams and external agencies.
- Help residents influence decisions around housing services and investment.
- Organise consultations, events, and training opportunities.
- Promote inclusion, cohesion, and equal opportunities.
- Support governance and scrutiny arrangements and ensure residents can effectively challenge and improve services.
Qualifications
- Experience working with community, tenant, or participation groups.
- Knowledge or experience within social housing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
A relevant qualification (or willingness to work toward one) in housing, community development, or customer service would be desirable.
- Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required (TOIL provided).
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
- DBS check required.
