Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council offers an excellent opportunity for an End User Technology Engineer within a team that provides research, maintenance, development, and support for the authority’s enterprise end-user environment. The role requires strong technical and communication skills, with proven experience in configuring, installing, and supporting a range of hardware and software in a large enterprise environment. The Enterprise End User Technology Team supports over 5000 devices across 150+ locations within the Dudley borough, including laptops, audio-visual solutions, mobile devices, and Multi-Functional Devices. This is a highly technical, office-based role requiring an experienced professional with strong skills in configuring, developing, and supporting a broad range of technologies, along with a sound understanding of security standards such as PCI, PSN, and HSCN.
Responsibilities
- Configure, install, develop, and support a broad range of hardware and software in a large enterprise environment.
- Support over 5000 devices across 150+ locations, including laptops, audio-visual solutions, mobile devices, and Multi-Functional Devices.
- Collaborate effectively within a professional, collaborative team and liaise with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues with strong expertise in Microsoft technologies.
- Work with mobile technologies (Android, iOS) and associated hardware; maintain a strong security posture aligned with PCI, PSN, and HSCN.
- Demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently in a performance-driven environment.
- Manage workload under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritise personal and team responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Experience in a Microsoft environment, including Windows OS, Intune, Entra, and Office 365.
- Proven ability to work as part of a highly professional, collaborative team.
- Working knowledge of audio-visual technologies and solutions.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Strong working knowledge of mobile technologies, including Android and iOS and associated hardware.
- Ability to liaise effectively with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently in a performance-driven environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritise both personal and team responsibilities.
You should hold relevant professional accreditations, ideally a Microsoft certification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent technical expertise in Microsoft technologies and end-user security within a large enterprise environment.
