Overview

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and the Dormston Centre invite passionate tutors to design and deliver engaging workshops and short evening or weekend classes in a dynamic dual‑use facility within Dormston School. This casual, flexible role allows you to work around existing commitments while contributing to community wellbeing in North Dudley.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and deliver one‑off workshops or short series of classes in your area of expertise.
  • Facilitate participant engagement in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
  • Adapt content to suit diverse skill levels and interests.
  • Collaborate with the Dormston Centre team to promote and support the course catalogue.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Arts, Crafts & Design; Hobbies & Leisure Interests; Practical & Everyday Skills; Health & Holistic Wellbeing.
  • Hands‑on skills in sub‑areas such as sewing, knitting, textiles, painting, pottery, jewellery making, gardening, local history, calligraphy, digital photography, music, DIY, computer literacy, budget cooking, foreign languages, gentle exercise, yoga, Pilates, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques.
  • Ability to work flexibly, often in evenings or weekends.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
  • Right to work in the UK—no sponsorship available.

Compensation

Grade 7 – £16.34 per hour.
