An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional DT Technician to join Kings Norton Girls’ School and Sixth Form (KNGS). We are an OFSTED outstanding school and part of the West Midlands Multi Academy Trust, the school has a comprehensive intake and a co‑educational sixth form. The post is available immediately on a permanent, part‑time contract, working term time only. 18 hours per week (0.4331 FTE), ideally working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the academic year 2025–2026; days may be negotiable. Working days in future years may change depending on timetable needs and therefore may be subject to annual change.
As a department, our aim is to enable our learners to flourish, develop skills, creativity and independence, through a broad and balanced Design and Make curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials and resources for teachers and students.
- Maintain stock levels, and maintain and organise DT machinery and equipment.
- Support the DT teacher in day‑to‑day teaching.
- Maintain high safety standards in the department.
The successful candidate will be a team player who collaborates well with the DT teacher. You may be an experienced technician or, with training, have the potential to deliver efficient and effective support; see the person specification for the required skill set.
