Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council seeks an experienced Data Protection Information Governance Manager to lead on GDPR, Freedom of Information and wider information governance compliance. The role will shape and strengthen the Council’s approach to data protection, ensuring best practices in transparency, accountability and information risk management.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Council’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), providing expert advice and guidance to senior management and elected members.
- Oversee GDPR compliance and support the development of policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively across services with the Corporate Information Governance Team to embed a strong data protection culture.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data protection, information governance and public sector compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication and advisory skills.
- Knowledgeable and proactive professional with a track record of implementing best practice data protection solutions.
Workplace Attendance
Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro‑rata) or onsite full time.
