Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Food Preparation & Nutrition to join a thriving, well-resourced department at Finham Park 2. This is a 0.5 maternity cover role suitable for an experienced teacher or an outstanding ECT.
As a member of the Food department, you will work closely with Andrew Hartshorn, the Subject Leader, in a department noted for its high standards, purposeful practical lessons, carefully sequenced curriculum and strong GCSE outcomes. Students take genuine pride in their work and leave with real cooking skills.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, deliver and assess KS3–KS4 Food Preparation & Nutrition lessons in line with the school curriculum.
- Lead practical lessons that promote high engagement, behaviour and safety.
- Support students in developing real cooking skills beyond recipe knowledge.
- Collaborate with the Food department to build links with the professional food world.
- Maintain strong routine and behaviour standards in practical setting.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an outstanding Early Career Teacher.
- Experience in delivering Food Preparation & Nutrition at secondary level.
- Excellent knowledge of the curriculum and assessment guidelines.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A supportive learning environment with a collaborative team and leadership that values staff workload.
