Exhall Grange Specialist School is a 4‑19 specialist school that supports pupils with a range of needs:
- Social, Communication and Interaction difficulties including Autism
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- Physical difficulties
- Sensory impairment
- Complex medical needs
Responsibilities:
The role will involve providing interventions both within‑class and outside the classroom across a wide range of activities from the VI curriculum framework. The successful candidate will work with pupils from Early Years Foundation Stage to Post‑16, supporting their learning and access to the curriculum.
Qualifications:
- Hold a recognised and relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Have a minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grades A‑C or Grade 4‑9
- Have an understanding of Special Educational Needs
- Have considerable experience of supporting pupils’ learning
- Have completed or be willing to undertake the Partners in Learning Advanced Certificate course
- Have Manual Handling training or be willing to undertake immediate training
- Understand and be able to work with Care Plans
- Have a knowledge of specialist equipment, its uses and operation and the ability to demonstrate to others e.g. braillers, embossers
- IT skills sufficient to use computerised technologies to provide VI resources
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is £31,022 – £33,699 full‑time equivalent, equating to £23,437 – £25,460 per annum for 32.5 hours per week (term time) plus 5 training days.
