West Coventry Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting students and their families to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to students and families, including home visits where appropriate.
  • Act as a key point of contact for parents/carers, offering guidance and signposting to relevant services.
  • Work collaboratively with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support vulnerable students.
  • Help improve attendance, behaviour, and overall student wellbeing.
  • Liaise with external agencies to coordinate multi‑agency support.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans and reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Have experience working with children, young people, or families in a support role.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be empathetic, resilient, and able to build trusting relationships.
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Committed to making a positive difference to students’ lives.
