An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Communities Team at North Warwickshire Borough Council as a Communities Officer. We are looking for a passionate, outgoing individual to work with colleagues, partners and local people to support local communities. The role is varied and will benefit from someone who is flexible and innovative, seeking ways to work with local communities. It will require someone who has experience in project management, funding, and a passion for working with people.
Our Communities Section has an excellent reputation supporting local communities through events, working with town centre partnerships, supporting local sports clubs, engaging local partners, and improving green spaces and play areas. We are looking for someone who will work with the Team and continue to progress work within our communities.
This role offers an opportunity for hybrid working, and the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible, occasionally working evenings and weekends as required.
Appointment to this post will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed. A Basic check will be required. This will contain details of convictions and conditional cautions considered to be ‘unspent’ under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Responsibilities- Work with the Communities Team to support local communities through events, partnerships and initiatives.
- Engage with local partners and communities to progress projects within the division.
- Contribute to improving green spaces and play areas and supporting local sports clubs.
- Collaborate with town centre partnerships and stakeholders to deliver community outcomes.
- Experience in project management and funding for community projects.
- Passion for working with people and the ability to work with colleagues, partners and local residents.
- Flexible and innovative approach; able to work with local communities and adapt to needs.
- Willingness to work hybrid hours and occasional evenings and weekends as required.
- Salary: £37,280 to £39,152 per annum
- Hours: 37 per week
- Contract: Fixed-term for six months, with possible extension
