Overview

Gloucestershire County Council Adult Social Care (GCC ASC) is seeking a Co-Production Lead to work within the Practice Development Team in Gloucester. The role supports meaningful Co-Production with Experts by Experience and carers across Adult Social Care and collaborates with the Principal Social Worker and the Practice Development Team. The position is permanent and full-time, with a mix of office, community and home working, and free offsite parking when based at Shire Hall.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional curiosity, accountability and role modelling in Co-Production practices.
  • Lead the development of Co-Production within Gloucestershire County Council and engage with national and local forums to replicate best practice locally.
  • Support the effective delivery of workforce Co-Production practice and development initiatives, including partnership work across six Partnership Boards in Gloucestershire.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Social Worker and the Practice Development Team to raise the profile and commitment to genuine Co-Production.

About you

You should have a passion for Co-Production and be skilled in implementing participation and co-production approaches. You will understand and empathise with the experiences of adults with mental health issues, learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments or other neurodiversities. You should also be able to demonstrate a combination of the following skills and experiences:

  • Considerable experience of working with adults in a statutory setting
  • Extensive experience in engagement activities, using hypotheses and options to inform judgement and decision making
  • Experience writing reports for a range of functions
  • Ability to engage with people in fluctuating circumstances and capacities
  • Chairing meetings and communicating confidently in complex situations
  • Applying critical reflection and analysis to increasingly complex situations
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the practice of others, or delivering continuous professional development
