St Peter’s Church of England Primary School is seeking an excellent and passionate class teacher to join our school family. We are looking for someone who truly believes that every child can flourish, and who is deeply invested in getting to know children as individuals – their strengths, their needs and the lives they lead beyond the classroom. At St Peter’s, children are at the heart of everything we do. Our strong family ethos means that relationships matter: with pupils, families and colleagues alike. We are an inclusive school community where difference is celebrated, barriers are removed and all are supported to succeed.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner, committed to high-quality teaching and learning for all
  • Has an unwavering belief that every child deserves to flourish, regardless of starting point, background or need
  • Is passionate about inclusion and skilled in adapting teaching to meet diverse needs
  • Brings creativity, joy and excitement to the classroom, inspiring curiosity and engagement (not just delivering the PowerPoint)
  • Takes time to know children as individuals and builds strong, positive relationships with pupils and families
  • Will actively contribute to our family ethos, showing commitment beyond the classroom, including school events and wider school life
  • Is a genuine team player, working collaboratively and supporting others
  • Has high expectations, coupled with warmth, care and compassion
  • Is reflective, ambitious and eager to develop professionally, rising to challenge and giving their all
  • Is committed to upholding our school’s Christian values and ethos

In return, we offer:

  • Flexibility to work in either Key Stage 1 or 2 depending on skills, interests and experience
  • A welcoming and supportive school family where staff wellbeing matters
  • Experienced leadership, mentors and teams who are committed to supporting and developing others
  • A culture where everyone – children and adults – is encouraged to flourish together
  • Opportunities for professional learning and development shaped by your own talents and interests
  • Well-behaved, enthusiastic children who enjoy learning
  • Supportive families who value education and strong partnerships
  • Fantastic outdoor learning spaces and opportunities to enrich learning beyond the classroom

This role would suit both Early Career Teachers and more experienced teachers who share our values and ambition.

Safeguarding: St. Peter’s Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and appropriate safeguarding checks. Please note that references will be sought for all shortlisted candidates prior to interview.
