The school is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Year who will play a pivotal role in shaping pastoral care and academic success. The role is central to providing high-quality pastoral care alongside maintaining high expectations for all pupils, ensuring effective leadership of a year group and fostering a strong sense of community through teamwork. The successful candidate will actively promote and embody the Christian vision and values of the school, creating an environment where every pupil feels supported, valued and inspired to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Co‑ordinate, prepare and maintain pastoral programmes for the year group.
- Support colleagues in the delivery of excellence in tutorial work.
- Lead high‑quality Collective Worship.
- Provide effective pastoral support and foster an inclusive learning environment where pupils can fully access their learning in a safe environment.
- Contribute to a smooth transition from other schools, promoting pupil well‑being on entry and exit.
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
- Establish and maintain high expectations, offering both challenge and support for all pupils through a fully inclusive approach.
- Share the vision for and deliver a curriculum that links content, skills and values, building on prior knowledge.
- Be responsive and proactive in securing sustained high standards of learning and teaching.
- Demonstrate flexibility and work effectively as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents and all stakeholders.
